Ebix is looking for a Senior COBOL Developer to provide support for critical systems in a Mainframe (z/OS) environment. We are seeking someone with an analytical profile, focused on stability and performance, who enjoys working on complex incident resolution and process optimization.
What you will do in this role:
Debug and resolve high-complexity and urgent incidents in production systems
Perform corrective and evolutionary maintenance on COBOL programs, ensuring integrity of batch and online processes
Apply performance tuning to DB2 queries and adjust complex jobs using JCL
Use Hexavision for detailed analysis of logs, dumps, and failure tracing
Provide specialized technical support and document applied solutions
What we expect from you:
Solid experience in COBOL (batch and online)
Experience with CICS environments
Strong knowledge of DB2 (queries, optimization, and data modeling)
Strong knowledge of JCL
Experience with Hexavision
Knowledge of IBM MQ and CSP
